Youtube's origins were in a makeshift office in a garage and were formed by Chad Hurley, Steven Chen, and Jawed Karim, who were all former employees of Paypal. It began as an angel-funded enterprise, which means they funded their own company, and the idea was devised at a dinner party when the trio was discussing the difficulty of finding, watching, and sharing video clips online. May 2005 was when the beta version of Youtube was on the internet and by the next month the very first video, "Me at the Zoo", was posted.  The 19-second clip was published by Karim and featured him at the San Diego zoo. The first one-million video was a Nike ad in September 2005 and since then, the business continued to expand.
